Get inspired

One of the reasons why we love projects like this is it is different and different means we go a little crazy and have fun with it. A combination of retail (exercise equipment) and office, Life Fitness has an extraordinary brand presence and was a huge amount of fun pulling it all together.

The outcome is an angular, masculine space. The remarkable feature is the red bulkhead connecting all the areas in the upstairs office donating brand consistency. The kitchen is a fresh, Scandinavian style, with subway tile splashback and integrated appliances. In the breakout zone, there’s two custom-made steel picnic tables (we like to call it a grown-ups picnic table), and brand colours weaved into the carpet.

On the shop floor, the joinery was designed to look like a gym locker, grid mesh used for storage and furniture supplied by Crestline, UFL and Harrows. The style of furniture is masculine, angular and almost Sci-Fi. It was upholstered with a Camera Blazer Fabric (NZ Wool), by Textilia Fabric. The main feature is the two-story timber slat wall in the foyer with the Life Fitness logo carved out of the timber. So beautiful, it’s like a piece of art.
